This image was taken in Portola Valley, California, in 1948, which was at the time a small agricultural town outside of San Fransisco. Today Portola Vally is one of the wealthiest towns in the United States. It is in the center of what became known as Silicon Vally, just 20 minutes from Apple’s Cupertino headquarters and 10 minutes from Stanford University’s main campus.
